history

in 1986, the love for traditional italian espresso prompted michael allpress to leave his career as a chef and establish one of new zealand’s first specialist espresso coffee companies, allpress espresso. ten years later, michael combined his talents with lifelong friend and well known sydney restaurateur, tony papas to successfully take allpress coffee into the australian market.


more recently michael and tony recognised the growing demand for excellent espresso in the

UK and 2010 marked further expansion to shoreditch, london.

allpress coffee is batch roasted and delivered fresh to the bowery each week and served to you by our allpress barista trained team. the origin, roast and blend of bean are crucial in producing flavour rich, aromatic and full bodied. allpress only roast 100% arabica speciality beans using a stringent green bean selection process.

  1. •redchurch blend - this is the allpress signature blend and the one we use in the bowery. brazil, colombia, guatemala and sumatran origins, rich and full-bodied with balanced, complex flavours and full sweet acidity.


single origin

  1. •papua new guinea - coming from deep in the png highlands. this coffee is fully washed and sun dried. bold body with a deliciously juicy mouth feel and an intense dry cocoa finish.

  2. •brazil samta alina - a natural coffee from the mogiana region. soft and sweet with medium body and a chocolate finish.

  3. •sumatra mandheling - this particular sumatran is at the cleaner end with mild earthy character, indicating that the parchment was dried to a degree before hulling. sweet and syrupy with a unique berry character, a touch of spice and rich, heavy body.

  4. •columbia pescador - a washed and sun dried coffee from the south west of colombia. bright with citrus and apple notes and a mild, milk chocolate finish.

  5. •guatamala huehuetenango - a natural coffee from the mogiana region. soft and sweet with medium body and a chocolate finish.
