i am a textile designer specialising in print, producing screen printed textile artworks. my inspiration comes from the built environment recording what i see through photography and drawing. through travel i have gained inspiration from other cultures, in particular the architecture of cities such as new york, hong kong and the industrial landscape of manchester. through quick marks and textured lines the work has a hand made and spontaneous feel. My aim is for my art work to be put back into the public environment producing striking designs which will enhance domestic and corporate spaces.

my work is an interpretation of a variety of surfaces - often organic in origin. my preoccupation is colour - my inspiration is location - and surfaces intrigue.

experimental sketchbook work and studies based on my travels are my starting point.

this particular set of painting focuses on my experiences of structures within landscapes and cityscapes - and explores basic elements of colour, texture and plane.
